We should all do this every morning.

Today, live passionately.

Ingrid Michaelson - You and I

Happy Valentines Day <3

Posted at 1:14pm.

In November 2010, my husband and I decided to ditch downtown apartment living and find a cozy, homey place in NE Mpls to call our first home. The first time we stepped foot into the house, we knew it was the one. Now that we’ve been in for a few months, it’s beginning to feel ours. Forgive me, but I’ve only taken pictures of the living & dining room (as well as a sneak peak into the kitchen from the dining room). It’s all I had cleaned that day… but tomorrow I’ll be capturing the rest of the house.

And please remember: my husband is the photographer, not me. My iPhone can only do so much.

This was the day of our 3rd showing… when we decided that it would be our first home.

Here we have the living room. This is the room directly inside the front door. We love the quaint charm of the built in shelves/columns. A 100 year old house has plenty of charm :)

Just a view of the chair in the corner. With a blanket, courtesy of Grandma :)

That mirror is directly behind the front door when it’s open. And the metal hooks below the mirror fold out to hold coats :) The plan is to place a wooden shelf above the TV… we just haven’t gotten that far yet.

The front door… just to give you a 360 view of the living room. (Ah yes, and Indie’s blanket strewn about by the door)

Here we go, into the dining room! Notice the light: left over from the previous owners… LOVE it!

We haven’t found a home for all of those pictures on top of our cubes… turns out we have more windows than empty wall space (which we love). But I love those little cubes… (and there’s the sneak peak into the kitchen!)

Just a quick look at the wall of 3 windows (2 shown) in our dining room.  4 windows = Great natural light!

This was taken when we had first moved in… but it gives you an idea of our kitchen. The sink is located over by the lamp & coffee maker. Love all of the counter space.

There you have it! A preview into our first home :) I love that it’s always a work in progress… but I think we’ve got a good start! Oh! And since this is a crafty blog, here’s a quick peek into my designated craft room… (one of the best rooms in the house). I still have a lot of work to do in there, making it my own creative space, but I love the direction it’s heading to!

Oh, oh! And I promised a crafty new year! Well, I finally finished some pillows for our bed… so I guess you’ll get a sneak peak of the bedroom too :)

It has possibly been ages since I’ve posted last. My apologies.

I’ve decided to make this the craftiest year I’ve had yet. The hubs and I are settled in our new home [blog post coming soon] and I can hear the callings of my NEW craft room upstairs. My sewing machine never has to be put away! Woo hoo!

So here’s to 2011 - the craftiest, blogiest, best year yet!

Meet our sweet little girl, Indie. She’s our newest addition to the Pease Family. When we first got her, she was a little under the weather with Kennel Cough, but now she’s up to being a rowdy, naughty puppy. Not only has she found a deep, undying love for our shoes and other small items around the house (hair ties, cough drops, socks, undies, etc) but she has recently found a new talent which consists of jumping up on the counter with her front paws and eating food placed there. Yes, the chocolate chip cookies I made yesterday, included. But we love her. And she’s just so sweet.

It’s here!!!

I’ve been dreaming of going to the Minnesota State Fair as a married woman since my fiance and I got engaged. Weird, maybe. I found myself dreaming more-so (at times) of going to the State Fair with my husband more than the wedding itself :) We’re planning on heading out for the first time on either Sunday or next Wednesday (w/ the Groves’)! I’ve been telling Gene that we need to be taking more home videos of our adventures… so you can be expecting some fun videos straight from the fair over the next week :)

Also, the hubs and I have been looking into getting a dog. We see dogs all around the city and have dreamed of having one for a couple months now. We just started researching into the different breeds that might fit us the best. We know we’d like a larger, playful dog as opposed to a small lap dog. Animal planet has provided us with some great educational materials about different breeds. Check them out here. I told Gene yesterday that if we had the house and the yard for it, I would love a Great Dane… but that’s just not our reality right now :) We’re looking into Golden Retrievers, Flat-Coated Labs or Australian Shepherds. Thoughts?

One of my favorite things about summer. :)

One of my favorite things about summer. :)

There she is! The cutest, most comfy, knitted, slouchy cabled beret that I’ve ever put on my head. Finished it this weekend at my parents house… and I can always count on my mama to go with me to the yarn store when I’ve finished (or not so finished) with a project <3 We headed over to Amazing Threads and took a gander for a new project. I had socks on the brain at first, until I locked eyes on an oh-so-cute shrug (that just happened to be their pattern of the month). The display was made of a brown-ish variegated Noro, however I went with a Cascade 220 Heathers Color 9454. The fantastic purple hues lifted my spirits as I knitted along with the first Vikes preseason game with my mom & dad. (Oh, and did I mention, I couldn’t leave the yarn shop without a second project in hand? Yes, I had socks on the brain and still plan on making them… out of none other but a wonderful Noro Silk Garden Sock yarn)

I also inherited a few handmade knits from my sweet mama. A beautiful green shrug (my favorite!) and a great black cardigan. Both perfect to pair with some skinny jeans and a fitted T.

Can’t wait for fall to get here! I’m startin’ to look like a knitter, but need some cooler days to whip out my nifty knits :)

I’m looking for a knitted hat pattern for Gene.

He’d like a slouchy hat for the coming fall/winter months (and also to look oh, so stylish).

All of the patterns I’ve run into on Vogue Knitting are too fitted… I need some more options.

This is the new project! I’ve always wanted a slouchy hat but never could find one that quite suited me. I was browsing around Vogue Knitting and found this wonderful Debbie Bliss pattern. More pictures to come— I’m halfway done! Love cables!
